Medieval Smocked Linen Apron (replica)

This apron is a hand sewn copy of one illustrated in the medieval manuscript the Luttrell Psalter. It is made from linen with linen ties. The apron is 10in across the top, 30 inches long and 30in wide at hem. is thought to be the first example of ‘smocking’ use. The Luttrell Psalter is an illuminated psalter commissioned by Sir Geoffrey Luttrell (1276–1345), lord of the manor of Irnham in Lincolnshire, written and illustrated on parchment circa 1320–1340 in England. Crow’s Eye Productions made a film based on the images (The Luttrell Psalter Film), and we are now selling all the props and costume from the film.
