Leegin Saddle Leather Bed roll? Book strap? Bard LARP, Renaissance Fair

This is so unique I had to pick it up. It's really high quality stiff saddle leather. I believe it is a bed roll/blanket carrier?. It's open on the sides and adjustable with a crossbody strap. The only mark on it is "Leegin" stamped on the hardware.
